| Shared Services
In these times, we are faced with the inevitability of increasing costs, reductions in State and Federal aid, employee salary increases and taxpayer cost-cutting demands. The ways and means of finding additional sources of revenue, while availing ourselves of money saving ideas, becomes a major responsibility for elected officials. One of the proven methods for effecting savings is through a well-planned Shared Services Program. Communities throughout the state can demonstrate how hundreds of thousands of dollars are saved each year without sacrificing home rule and without the stigma of "regionalization". Today's municipal leaders realize that in our present economy, they can no longer address all the issues internally. They recognize and support the advantages of inter-governmental cooperation.
